2017 Season Updated 3/25/2017

June Baseball Updated 6/1/2016
We are a little over halfway through the season, and will be beginning our 2016 playoffs on 6/20/2016;  no games will be played on Father's Day.  Accordingly, regular season games will be rescheduled up and to 6/18/2016.

The playoff tournament is a full double elimination tournament (e.g. a team has a chance to win the championship even with one loss).  Our goal will be to have the tournament completed by the end of June.

In early July, we'll have our annual Homerun Derby and All Star game.  The Homerun Derby is open for all PBA participants, whereas the All-Star game will be represented by players as voted by their peers.

Keep in mind that 2016 FALL BALL is also open for registration at www.palatineparks.org.  Incoming 7th and 8th graders are eligible to participate in our Pony Fall Ball program, whereas incoming Freshmen through Seniors are eligible for our Colt Fall Ball program.  Details can be found here.

Tryouts for our 13/14 Palatine Postseason ("travel lite") team will be on Sunday, May 8th, 2016 at Gbur D & E.  Please visit our Postseason Travel Teams for more details.

2016 Registration - Deadline Nearing Updated 2/27/2016
Please keep in mind, if you intend on registering your child for the 2016 season, the Pony registration deadline is 3/1/2016;  registering your child by the registration deadline ensures your child has a chance to play during the 2016 season, as any registration received after the due date will potentially be waitlisted.  Please see the Registration Tab (left pane) for additional details on how to register online, by mail, or by walk-in.

Have Photos? Updated 5/28/2015

Pony Bat Rule - Clarification Reminder Updated 1/24/2015
Effective in 2014, the bat rule for Pony baseball is as follows:

Big Barrel Bat Rules (2⅝”) – Pony Baseball Only:
  • Have the new permanent (1) USSSA-certified or (2) BBCOR-certified mark on the bat's taper.  Note that the coefficient listed on the bat's taper does not have to be 1.20 per the image below for USSSA certifications;  the bat must solely be certified under the regulation.
  • "Drop" (weight-to-length ratio) maximum of -3 (i.e. all other drop weights below -3, such as -5, -8, -10 are legal and permitted for game use).
In addition to above, wood bats are also permitted for use in Pony.

USSSA and BBCOR marks and other graphics of the bat must be applied permanently and must be applied by the USSSA licensed manufacturer. No stickers or decals are allowed and no one may add graphics to a bat once manufactured. These rules are in place as a safety standard that all bats utilized in our program must meet.

Note that the "Coaches/Rules Page" will still reflect the 2014 bat rule. This bat rule is only effective for the Pony league (7th and 8th Graders).

Please note that all bats that were legal in our program (specifically the Pony baseball program, not Bronco or below) for the past three years are legal under this bat rule change.  The bat rule change was to enable lighter bats into our program such that some of the smaller ballplayers in our program can swing a bat comfortably.  The BBCOR and USSSA stamps on the taper of the bat are a safety approval legislation.
