2017 Postseason Tryout Results Updated 5/10/2017

Postseason Tryout Results

We had another strong group of players come through our tryouts, and wanted to congratulate the following players on making our 2017 postseason teams.  There are difficult decisions when we have fixed rosters, but can say with confidence that the best ballplayers in the program came out this past weekend.  Thank you again for all that came out to the tryouts this past weekend.

Postseason Registration & Tryout Form

Our postseason in-house all-star program is intended to supplement the regular house league season, permitting interested players to experience multiple playoff-quality tournament experiences, as well as additional games and practices that begin in mid-May through the end of July. The postseason team participates in weekend tournaments, and provides advanced coaching and baseball fundamentals for all interested players.

If interested in trying out for the 2017 postseason teams, please fill out this form below, and contact us at pbabaseballsoftball@gmail.com if you have any questions about the upcoming season, questions regarding participation in the program, or conflicts with the scheduled tryout date and/or time. Our 2017 postseason tryouts for 13U and 14U players will be held on Sunday, May 7th, 2017 at Gbur Fields D & E at 9am. Please note that many of the tournaments are combined at 13U/14U; therefore, we will field as many competitive teams as possible (either one or two teams) depending on participation interest, and a majority of the practices will be Sundays throughout the in-house season. .

In the event you have interest in participating and cannot make the tryout, please contact us at pbabaseballsoftball@gmail.com. Players are encouraged to arrive 30 minutes before the scheduled start time for warm-ups.

The registration fee is based on tournaments and fundraising; the anticipated cost for the five tournaments for the upcoming season is $150 / player. All players participating in the PBA 2017 season from Palatine, Hoffman Estates, Lake Zurich, and Rolling Meadows are eligible to participate.

2017 Tournament Schedule (players are encouraged to try out if they can attend at least three of the following):

We would like to thank everyone who came out for our 2016 postseason U13/U14 team.  All of the coaches, raters, and helpers were impressed with the quality of ballplayers who came out for the team, and while the decision process on who makes the team is a tough one, the following players were selected to be part of the 2016 Palatine Postseason Team.

More information about the team practices and tournaments will follow in the next upcoming few days.  Please see the Pony --> Schedule link for Postseason practices over the next two weeks before the first tournament over Memorial Day weekend.

Palatine Baseball Association – U13 & U14 Postseason Teams

The Palatine Baseball Association ("PBA") is the Park District affiliate baseball/softball program for ages 13-29 (7th grade and up).  The postseason all-star program at the U13 and U14 levels allow house league participants to play in four to five tournaments across the northern, northwestern, and western suburbs, facing the postseason tournament teams of neighboring communities in a competitive environment.

The PBA postseason program utilizes four independent managers & coaches at both age levels, combining practices aimed at building both successful teams and teaching each of the participants high school level skills utilized at Fremd, Palatine, and other surrounding high schools, as well as advanced fundamentals, to further develop the talent in the program.    The teams are formed via a formal tryout early during the regular house league season, and the program is committed towards fielding as many teams at either and both the U13 and U14 levels provided the team teams at each level are competitive relative to other neighboring programs.  Postseason program fees are $150/player - due to the support of the PBA, program sponsors, and hosting a U13 postseason tournament on Palatine fields - for the opportunity for an additional 12+ practices and 20+ tournament games through the end of July (in addition to each team’s house schedule).  Over the past three years, the program has been largely successful due to the dedication and efforts of both the players, external volunteers, and internal parent volunteers supporting the program.
